Implementing Matured Model of Testing - iMMT

It has been over a decade now that software testing is one of the most critical expectations for all software projects. As the saying goes it is very important to put a right model in place for delivering testing projects. In this paper, we have described implementing TMMi processes with few of the best practices that we have considered keeping specific organizational goals in the context.

For most of the organizations they do have CMMi process certification or any other similar certification to maintain process standard and for sure to be one of the competitors in the market. These certifications do not have much depth in defining or implementing quality testing process which is now has become a key factor for testing projects or offerings. CMMi does cover SDLC in a good way but lacks in its reach of STLC. In the current market scenario where testing has its own identity and clients are expecting independent verification and validation approach, it has become inevitable for all organizations to set explicit process guidelines during testing phase and not just wrap that up in normal SDLC.

In the current world, where each and every client is expecting high quality at each phase of any project activity it has become mandatory for every big or small organization to lay out stringent quality processes that will confirm with the client expected quality deliverable. For that matter few of the big organizations are coming or have come up with separate service offering for testing or establishments. Here in our idea we are going to describe implementation of TMMi processes in the testing activities and some of the key best practices.

It has been observed that many organizations having Matured Model of Testing implemented but need to see the reflection in the mirror of TMMi. Commonly observed, based on our experience in the project that if we keep a Matured Model of Testing which is implemented in any project/organization in front of the mirror of TMMi, you will find many gaps from the implementation perspective. The gaps range from breadth and depth of its implementation. It is now the time for all organization to mirror matured model of testing they have implemented (iMMT) with TMMi and blend it with other certifications like CMMi.
